The Nevada INBRE and partners are seeking applicants for Scientific Core Service Awards to foster your research, publications and grants three times a year: April, August, and December.

Services can be requested from

Applicants may request services from one or multiple cores. No award will be issued for more than $5,000. A maximum of $2000 in services may be requested from each core; Bioinformatics’ requests of up to $5,000 will be considered.

This list is not exhaustive. For more information about additional services and ways the cores could assist in your research endeavors, please reach out to the cores directly. Also, our NV INBRE Data Science directors, Drs. Juli Petereit and Ed Oh are here in case there are general questions or concerns.

Awards will be issued by late-April/early-May and must be utilized by September 30, 2024; extensions will be considered if requested in written by August 15, 2024.

Any researcher at Nevada INBRE Partner Institutions (CSN, DRI, GBC, NSU, TMCC, UNLV, UNR, WNC) needing scientific core services or support can apply.

Outreach institutions (CSN, GBC, NSU, TMCC, WNC) may apply at any time. Please complete this application form which remains open and applications will be considered throughout the year.

Please complete the short Scientific Core Service Award Application online which covers the following points:

  1. Project overview, including experimental design (e.g., organism, sample size, replicates)
  2. Testing hypothesis, expected outcomes, and project timeline (any deadlines if applicable)
  3. Description of requested core services including a quote from the core(s)
  4. Relevance of the project to PI’s research and plans for additional (federal) funding
  5. Biomedical implication of the proposed project (UNR applications without biomedical relevance will be considered thanks to the supported by UNR Research & Innovation)
  6. Undergraduate/graduate student and/or post-doctoral participation
  7. Optional: supporting figures
